This grade 5 – 12 Teacher Guide from our residency with local ensemble Aurea in late winter 2020, looks at poetry, spoken word, music, Transcendentalism, and their relationship to the science of nature all around us. Supporting the FirstWorks Earth First initiative to use the arts to raise awareness about sustainability of the environment, climate change, and stewardship of outdoor spaces, these lessons, adapted from lessons created by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) help students think about science in different ways
